In the Spanish family there is a tradition known as el bendición de la casa, translated as the House Blessing. It is similar to a baby dedication. After our Thanksgiving dinner we blessed little Mario. His grandmothers anointed him with holy oil from Jerusalem. MJ's Titi Tiana, while in the Navy, had the opportunity to travel to Jerusalem. She brought back holy water from the Motherland which was also used during Princess Ciara's el bendición de la casa. So MJ's grandparents are also his Godparents (don't worry Shonda, you are his GODMOTHER!). As you can see from the photo MJ was asleep when we first anointed him. He woke up as soon as the water was poured!
